3way healthcare is now able to provide local anaesthetic and cortico-steroid injections for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in the assessment and treatment of patients with musculo-skeletal peripheral joint and soft tissue dysfunction.

A cortico-steroid injection will provide pain relief and will reduce inflammation. This will enable the bodies natural healing process to occur and allow you to regain your full movement, power and function more quickly.

Injections may be performed as either a part of your Physiotherapy treatment or as a one off session as recommended by your GP or consultant. This is beneficial as advice and appropriate exercises can be provided to maximise the benefit of the injection. As Physiotherapists are skilled in their anatomical knowledge they are able to position the injection at the most appropriate site.

Physiotherapists are unable to prescribe the local anaesthetic or cortico-steroid for the injection and thus a prescription must be sought from your GP.
